Youth Camps

Encampment for Citizenship

Marion Silverbear – efcyouthprogram@gmail.com

The Encampment for Citizenship (EFC) is a summer leadership program with year-round follow up for youth ages 16-17. People very different from one another will come together and grapple with the challenging and messy issues of creating a community where everyone has a voice and decisions are made collectively.  They will  investigate the context of larger social issues and the relationship between the internal community issues and these larger issues. This is the power of the Encampment: You know a better world is possible because you lived it, and you go out into the world finding ways to take your Encampment experience and translate it into working for a more just and equitable world wherever you go.
