Secret Angels
During each Jam, we write the name of each person in our community onto a slip of paper (include childcare, food and hosting/cleaning folks, if they are willing) and have each person pick a name out of a hat, making sure they don’t pick themselves, and that they don’t tell the person whose name they got. Each person’s Secret Angel will do nice things for them throughout the gathering, in secret. These might include having someone else give your special person a hug or shoulder massage, or a present or flower, or a nice note or picture, or asking for a song or dance to be performed at the outset of a session, or anything else conjured up through creativity and caring. Secret Angels are part of how we build, nurture, and support our community process, and this year we want to do a little experiment with the wider community supporting the Jam.
Sign up below to be added to a Secret Angel Database that will participate together from the Global Jamily during the week of July 10-17 (in honor of the 1999 World Youth Leadership Jam that took place over the same days in Nevada City, CA)!
We encourage you to name your talents and skills to the group, as possible offerings for Secret Angels to call upon. We’ll share a list of offerings and contact information. The invitation is not to spend money, but rather to source from our surroundings and community gifts that can bring joy and support. Please keep the secret for the whole week, especially from their special person. And, invite people to enjoy receiving and not worry too much about guessing who it is. Also, the guideline is at least one gift to your special person per day. Secret Angels will be revealed at the end of the week!
